Friday / January 25, 2013 SCT San Lorenzo Gym FIRST GAME SCT Batch 2004 maintained their unblemished record by posting a relaxing win by default over SCT Batch 2000. SCT Batch 2004 kept their image as one of the most disciplined team in the league by coming-in on time and waited for a couple of minutes for SCT Batch 2000. Only 3 players from Batch 2000 showed-up that automatically handed the victory to SCT Batch 2004 for their 7th consecutive win. By rule, players of Batch 2004 included in the top 40 statistical race shall automatically get their points by means of their average point production per game + 10 points for the win. Congratulations SCT Batch 2004! SECOND GAME SCT FACULTY TEAM notched their 3rd victory in a row via a thrilling 78-77 win over SCT Batch 88. It was the SCT Faculty Team leading all-throughout the game by as much as 14 points until SCT Batch 88, led by the furious attacks to the basket of Reinerr “The Engineer” Santos and Daboy Dela Rosa, gave a scare by bringing the gap closed at 63-62 with 6:49 left in the time clock. SCT Batch 88 even led by as much as 1 point with under 5-minutes remaining in the game, but it was the steady plays, composure and focus to the game of SCT Faculty Team that led them to another victory. With just 16 seconds remaining in the ball game, score tied at 76 and ball possession for SCT Batch 88, a major blunder was committed by SCT Batch 88. The ball was stolen by SCT Faculty Team and a shot was miraculously made by their number 34 player, Chris Awa that posted the score at 78-76 in favour of SCT Faculty less than 10 seconds remaining. Reinerr “The Engineer” Santos was fouled in the act of shooting with no time remaining in the clock. But under huge pressure, Santos split his free throws to the delight of the SCT Faculty players and fans. After 3 straight losses in the first round of the elimination, SCT Faculty Team stood-up from the grave, won all their second round assignments and now stands at 3-3 win loss record at the end of the elimination round. They are now number 2 in the bracket team standing and have the twice-to-beat advantage going into the bracket semi-finals and shall face again SCT Batch 88. Robert “The Slasher” Perpetua topscored anew for SCT Faculty Team with 28 points, majority on fastbreak plays, followed by Oco and Carbo with 16 points apiece. Reinerr “The Engineer” Santos carried the scoring loads for SCT Batch 88 with 36 big points, followed by Daboy Dela Rosa with 18 points. GAMES… GAMES…. GAMES… Saturday / January 26, 2013 SCT San Lorenzo Gym FIRST GAME SCT Batch 92 pulverized the undermanned SCT Batch 94; Score: 76-45 SCT Batch 92 affirmed their position in the top of the bracket standing at the end of the elimination round by posting a very convincing win against SCT Batch 94. Gerry Botin topscored for SCT Batch 92 with 14 and Castaneda supported him with 12. Ramil Huang , De Guzman and Dolores posted 8 points each. The undermanned SCT Batch 94, without their top players Bien Andre Llagas and Apollo Aramil, was carried by Glen Liorente with 17 markers including four 3-pointers, but his efforts were not enough to beat the powerhouse SCT Batch 92. They will now face each other in the bracket semi-finals being the number 1 and number 4 teams in their bracket standing. |
SECOND GAME
After 5 straight losses in the first round and early part of the second round, the SCT STUDENT ASSISTANTS Team claimed their third straight victory by beating the slumping SCT Batch 2003. Score: 62-58 Needing to win one more victory to gain at least a chance for the final four in their bracket standing, the SCT STUDENT ASSISTANTS TEAM showed great mobility and focus on the game as they trounced their counterpart, SCT Batch 2003 and secured a 3-5 win loss record. They just hope and pray that SCT Batch 2001 loss to league leading SCT Batch 2004 on Sunday to claim the automatic fourth spot in the bracket team standing. SCT Student Assistants were faced anew by their own scoring machine JUNRIL OPSIMA with 37 career best points. SCT Batch 2003 was led in scoring by David Victorio, who was questionably benched in the fourth quarter despite his scoring bombs in the first three quarters, and Alvin “The Assassin” Edwards, who arrived late in the third quarter and played only in the fourth quarter, contributed 11 points. SCT Student Assistants and SCT Batch 2003 shall face each other anew in the knock-out bracket semi-finals game, if SCT Batch 2001 losses to SCT Batch 2004 on Sunday, for the right to meet second seeded SCT Batch 2000 in another bracket semi-finals match up. GAMES… Sunday / January 27, 2013 SCT San Lorenzo Gym FIRST GAME The exhausted SCT Batch 89, playing only with 5 players, conceded to SCT Batch 87 at the end of the third quarter and absorbed their 3rd straight defeat, relegating them to an automatic 4th place finish in the bracket team standing at the end of the elimination round, behind SCT Batch 88 at 2-4 win loss record. Score: 60-31. Rannie "The Man with a Golden Hand" Manuel and Allan Lopez topscored for SCT Batch 87 with a combined 27 points and secured their Batch Team to a number 1 spot in the standing with a twice-to-beat advantage. They will be facing the number 4 team SCT Batch 89 in the bracket semi-finals. SECOND GAME SCT BATCH 2004 knocked-out SCT BATCH 2001, even in the absence of Bernard “The Ninja Kid” Magaling. Score 67- 65 The trio of Patrick Lazarte with 18 points, Danny Tapales with 16 and John Martinez with 11, perfectly executed significant plays that catapulted their team as the best in the elimination round with an unblemished record of 8 wins and 0 loss. With the record, it gave SCT Batch 2004 an automatic slot in the bracket championship, and waiting for the winner in the bracket semi-finals between SCT Batch 2000, 2003 and SCT Student Assistants to be their opponent. VOLLEYBALL Sunday / January 27, 2013 SCT San Lorenzo Gym SCT Batch 98 Volleyball Team automatically won by default versus SCT Batch 88. They now have a 3-3 win-loss record and but was not enough to place their team in the finals. See you next season SCT Batch 98! Meanwhile, SCT Batch 99 secured the top spot in the elimination round of the Volleyball Tournament, finishing the elimination round with 5 wins and 1 loss, trouncing the hapless SCT Batch 89, who fell to 4-2 win-loss record, to the score of 2 sets to 0. The two teams shall again face each other in the upcoming championship, to vie for the very first SCT-ASUL VOLLEYBALL CHAMPION. |
