Sunday / February 3, 2013 SCT San Lorenzo Gym FIRST GAME SCT BATCH 90 took the first BRACKET B DIVISION FINALS seat by ousting SCT BATCH 91. Score: 82-67. An all-around brilliant plays were orchestrated by the energized SCT BATCH 90 in the first game of the bracket division semi-finals game by trouncing the ill-fated squad of SCT BATCH 91. Ramil Baladjay and Joseph Galisinao topscored for the 90’s with 24 and 19 points, respectively. SCT BATCH 91, who was once leading in the Bracket B division, suddenly fell to the grounds and absorbed their third straight defeat since the elimination round. With the loss, it is now bye bye time for SCT BATCH 91 and hope that their team will be rejuvenated for the next season. Big Boy Rogel Alcoriza topscored for SCT BATCH 91 with 23 points, followed by Chang with 22 and Melindo Valle with 13. With the win, SCT BATCH 90 formally occupies the first seat in the BRACKET B DIVISION FINALS and will wait for the winner between SCT BATCH 92 and SCT BATCH 94, to be their opponent for the one-game do-or-die bracket division finals. SECOND GAME SCT BATCH 99 easily demolished and shattered SCT BATCH 95, score: 84-52 Ramir “Suphafly” Gabutina, played a super flying game in this semi-final round by scoring another career best 30 points, highlighted by great drives to the basket and no non-sense jump shots. It was an all-around great performance by Gabutina as he was named as the Best Player of the Game and sealed his name as one of the best guards in the current SCT Alumni League. Anthony “The Executioner” Sta. Ana supported Gabutina with 24 points, but did not score a single point in the fourth quarter. Nonetheless, as one of the best forwards in the league, Sta. Ana played yet another sterling performance and the one-two punch of SCT BATCH 99 carried their team to another victory, affirming their hold for the first bracket division finals seat. The John Manosca less SCT Batch 95 was faced by Edmar “The Big Deal" Robale with 20 points, followed by Erwin Villaflor with 16 points...15 of them coming from the rainbow territory. |
THIRD GAME
SCT BATCH 98 claimed the second seat in the BRACKET C DIVISION FINALS by Brutally Annihilating SCT BATCH 96, score: 101-69. It was a complete team effort by SCT BATCH 98 as they claimed the right to meet SCT BATCH 99 in the Bracket C Division Finals. Playing with great support and loud cheers from their other batchmates, SCT BATCH 98 almost perfectly executed every play on the floor and displayed great passing, jumpshots and inside presence as they totally dominated the hapless SCT BATCH 96 and confirmed their spot in the bracket finals. Five players have scored in double figures for SCT BATCH 98, with 3 of them scoring 21 points apiece, Pahjong “The Bull Strong” Avelino, Gilbert Lorenzo and Michael “The Hulk” Uriarte. Newcomer Lazir Liborjo scored 14 and Dominic Condino scored 10 points. As expected, Bok “Book It” Manosca carried the scoring chores for his batch team with 37 points. With the loss, SCT BATCH 96 bids goodbye for now and shall prepare for the next season. An anticipated match-up in the Bracket C Division Finals between SCT BATCH 98 and SCT BATCH 99 is going to happen and expected to be an intense, bloody and tension-filled game between the two opposing teams.
