Friday / November 30, 2012 / SCT San Lorenzo Gym By Raymond A. Bonifacio FIRST GAME ROD CASTILLO saves the day for SCT BATCH 89 as they surprisingly beat SCT FACULTY Team. Castillo scored 31 big points for his team and carried the scoring chores, all in the paint and fast-break lay-ups that brought SCT BATCH 89 to a solo second place in Bracket A with 2-1 win-loss record. Castillo also grabbed the Best Player of the Game plum for the very first time. Leading by 11 points with still 5 minutes remaining in the 4th Quarter, SCT FACULTY TEAM suddenly collapsed in a 12-4 scoring run by SCT Batch 89, giving the 89ers a come-from-behind victory. Castillo was ably supported by Jonard “The Gigil Man” De Leon with 13 points and Angelo Yongzon with 11 points. SCT Faculty Team was carried anew by the fast and the furious tandem of Robert “The Slasher” Perpetua with 17 points and Arlon Oco with 16. SECOND GAME SCT BATCH 2001 hammered SCT STUDENT ASSISTANTS for their first win of the season; Score 72-55 Jervy Lorenzo, Gian Franco Baluran and Billy Cruz combined for a 37 point attack as they led their Batch to a sweet victory, and their first in 4 games, going to a 1-3 win-loss record in their bracket. It was purely a team effort for SCT BATCH 2001 that saw them leading all throughout the game against a listless team, SCT STUDENT ASSISTANTS. SCT STUDENT ASSISTANTS was led by the hard-working Ely Boy Quiaoit with 16 points. THIRD GAME SCT BATCH 90 upsets bracket leading SCT BATCH 91; Score: 55-35 The older SCT Batch 90 completed an upset by beating SCT Batch 91 by a very commanding 20 point lead. It was the very first loss of SCT Batch 91 in 3 games as they struggled from the very start of the ball game until the final buzzer sounded. It was an unfortunate night for the 91 Boys as they were trounced by SCT Batch 90 with a 10-0 blast in the first minutes of the game and they scored only 4 points in the first quarter, followed by only 8 points in the second quarter for a 30-12 score in the first half. SCT BATCH 90 never looked back as they led by as much as 23 points and both teams are now locked in the bracket with an identical 2-1 win-loss card together with Batch 94. SCT Batch 90 was led by Ramil Baladjay with 15 points while SCT Batch 91 was led by Big Boy Rogel Alcoriza with a quiet 11 points. GAMES….GAMES…. GAMES…. Saturday / December 1, 2012 / SCT San Lorenzo Gym By Raymond A. Bonifacio FIRST GAME SCT BATCH 2004 SWEPT THE FIRST ROUND with 4-0 win-loss record by beating an equally strong team, SCT BATCH 2003. A complete First Round sweep was posted by SCT BATCH 2004 as they crashed SCT BATCH 2004, 72-59. SCT Batch 2004 was led anew by Ace Gunner BERNARD MAGALING with 24 points, for his 4th straight Best Player of the Game plum and ably followed by Swingman RALPH JASON CONTREVIDA with 18 markers for their 4th straight win in 4 games in the SCT-ASUL Men’s Basketball. SCT BATCH 2004, together with SCT Batch 87 and SCT Batch 99 are the only unbeaten teams in the on-going league. ALVIN “The Assassin” EDWARDS singlehandedly carried the scoring loads for his batch with 28 markers, but was not enough for him to bring his team to victory. They now have a 3-1 win-loss card going into the second round. SECOND GAME SCT BATCH 92 made it two wins in a row by beating SCT BATCH 94; Score: 79-63 Rebounding Demon RAMIL HUANG, who were absent in the previous games of SCT BATCH 92, scored a career high 34 points in the game and provided the clutches in the absence of another gunner Enrico Pangan. Rommel Caoagdan supported Huang with 12 points. SCT Batch 94 absorbed their third defeat in 3 games, even in the presence of seldom present BIEN ANDRE LLAGAS, who provided 17 points but were sidelined in the 3rd quarter due to foul troubles. SCT BATCH 94 was led by ARAMIL with 20 points. |

Bok Manosca scored 32 points to lead SCT BATCH 96 past the John Rally Manosca less SCT Batch 95. SCT BATCH 96 tasted their first win of the season by capitalizing the absence of Hotshot John Rally Manosca of SCT BATCH 95. It was a see-saw battle in the first 2 quarters up to the early stages of the third quarter for both teams, but SCT Batch 96, led by the furious attacks to the basket and 3 point-bombs of scoring machine John “Bok” Manosca, pulled-away and notched a 1-2 win-loss record in the league. Manosca was ably supported by Benjo Albarillo with 22 points. EDMAR “The Punisher” ROBALE had a sterling performance for his team with a career high 42 points, including six 3-point bombs, but was not enough to carry his team for that elusive win. Bonifacio FIRST GAME A total demolition job performance by SCT BATCH 2000, as they posted a 41-point lead over the hapless SCT STUDENT ASSISTANTS. Score: 88-47 Jay Bernardo of SCT Batch 2000 led all scorers with 19 points, followed by Leo Boy Banares with 18, as they cruised to their 2nd straight victory of the season. Considered to be the most lopsided game of the season so far, the Archie Apayart less SCT STUDENT ASSISTANTS TEAM can’t seem to find the right rhythm in the game as they were completely trounced and beaten to the ground by SCT BATCH 2000. SCT STUDENT ASSISTANTS were paced by the combined efforts of Khristopher De Leon and Ely Boy Quiaoit with 22 and 13 points, respectively. SECOND GAME 3-0 win-loss slate for SCT BATCH 87, as they beat their younger counterpart, SCT BATCH 88; Score: 57-51. Dubbed as the man with a golden hand, Rannie Manuel led his team in scoring with 21 points including three 3-pointers for their third straight victory in 3 games. SCT Batch 88 tried everything they can to bring the gap closer, but the relentless SCT Batch 87 proved to be too much for SCT Batch 88. SCT Batch 88 was led by Reinerr Santos with 27 points. VOLLEYBALL GAMES FIRST GAME / Saturday / December 1, 2012 SCT VOLLEYBALL TEAM BATCH 99 beats SCT VOLLEYBALL TEAM BATCH 98. The battle of the 90s favoured SCT BATCH 99 over their older counterpart, SCT Batch 98, 2 sets to 0. First and second sets were grabbed by the 99 Girls, 25-10 and 25-9 respectively. It was Batch 99’s second win in a row for a 2-1 win-loss record and grabbed the solo second spot in the team standings. SCT Batch 98 Girls absorbs their second loss in a row. SECOND GAME / Sunday / December 2, 2012 SCT VOLLEYBALL TEAM BATCH 98 beats SCT VOLLEYBALL TEAM BATCH 88. Younger SCT BATCH 98 Volleyball Girls Team beats SCT BATCH 88 in a thrilling and palpitating match between the two opposing teams that went down the wire in 3 sets. The first set was taken by SCT BATCH 88 in a heart pounding 28-26 score but faltered in the second set, as SCT BATCH 98 furiously went back with 25-9 complete demolition of SCT Batch 88. As the game went into the third set, SCT Batch 98 mercilessly clobbered their older counterpart, as they posted another thrilling victory at a score of 25-22. SCT Batch 98 now has a 1-2 slate, while SCT Batch 88 fell down to 0-3. Congratulations! |
