GAMES… GAMES… GAMES…
Saturday / March 9, 2013 SCT San Lorenzo Gym FIRST GAME SCT BATCH 92 overpowered SCT BATCH 87 to gain the very first over-all finals seat in the current SCT Alumni Basketball League. Score: 66-51 Playing one their best games of the season, SCT BACTH 92 displayed an array of great plays and a great camaraderie inside the court that is worth emulating, as they crashed their Bracket A cross-over rival, the SCT BATCH 87. With the win, SCT BATCH 92 occupies the first seat in the over-all finals and ready to face the winner in the other cross-over match-up between SCT BATCH 99 and SCT BATCH 2004. The younger SCT BATCH 92 showed speed and shooting accuracy throughout the ballgame on the combined efforts of Ramil “The Insider” Huang with 17 points, Enrico Pangan with 12 and Benjamin Castaneda with 11 points. It was however an off-night for SCT BATCH 87 as this was just the first time that they were beaten by 15 double digit points. SCT BATCH 92 actually started to pull-away mid in the 2nd quarter and even led by as much as 12 points in the early goings of the third canto, but the ever relentless and aggressive squad of SCT BATCH 87 refuses to give up, pursued SCT BATCH 92 and came to within 5 points. But it was in the early goings of the fourth quarter that the 92ers, with great plays and enormous shaded lane presence, ardently pulled-away and escaped with a very convincing 66-51 lead over SCT BATCH 87. SCT BATCH 87 was led in scoring by slotman Allan Lopez and swingman Ogie Lucero with 12 points apiece. SCT BATCH 92 now has the chance to become the very first SCT-ASUL Basketball Tournament Champions. |
SECOND GAME
In the battle of the two of the best batch teams in the current SCT Alumni Basketball League, only one has prevailed and showed that they are indeed the best, and that is SCT BATCH 99, outclassing the equally strong and resilient team in the league, SCT BATCH 2004; Score: 87-79 At the early stages of the first quarter, SCT BATCH 99 seemed to be on the brink of getting the win easily against SCT BATCH 2004 by hitting big shots after big shots and great plays after great plays, but SCT BATCH 2004, even in the absence of their ace pointguard DANNY TAPALES, refused to be left behind in scoring and came closer and closer everytime the 99ers are starting to pull away. With the power packed duo of ANTHONY “The Phenomenal Executioner” STA. ANA and Ramir “Suphafly” GABUTINA breaking loose in each quarter, the SCT BATCH 99 showed to their younger counterpart that they are indeed the A-team of the current SCT – ASUL Basketball. STA. ANA and GABUTINA combined for 60 points, which weighs 69% of their team’s total output with 30 points each. They once again grabbed the limelight with some eye-popping fancy passes to each other, great shooting accuracy and flabbergasting drives to the basket. Intense, extreme and passionate, that is how we can describe this SCT BATCH 99 Basketball Team. On the other hand, much as they wanted to come close in beating the ever relentless SCT BATCH 99, SCT BATCH 2004 fell short and wasn’t able to pull-up some great plays towards the end of the ball game. BERNARD “The Ninja Kid” MAGALING and RJ LAROCO combined for a brilliant effort of 55 points, 30 for Magaling and 25 for Laroco, but as fate would have it, SCT BATCH 99 proves to be too much for them. Patrick Lazarte helped them with 12 points. SCT BATCH 99 now grabbed the official rights to meet their older counterpart, the BRACKET B Champs, SCT BATCH 92 for the very first SCT-ASUL CHAMPIONSHIP CROWN next week, Sunday, March 17, 2013. Goodluck on both teams! |
